RESOURCE CLUB

RESOURCE CLUB

What is the Gatekeepers Resource Club?
The Gatekeepers Resource Club is a weekly gathering where community resources connect directly with returning citizens and individuals seeking support. It is a safe space for networking, learning, and building connections to local services and opportunities.

When and where does it take place?
The Resource Club is held every Saturday morning at Trinity Lutheran Church 15 Randolph Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland in the Fellowship Hall. Doors open at 9:30 AM for networking and coffee. The meeting runs from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with many participants staying afterward to continue connecting with providers.

How many people attend?
Attendance has grown steadily each year. The average attendance increased from 23 participants in 2021 to 43 in 2022 and approximately 80 attendees in 2023. As of May 2025, attendance has expanded to over is 100 people each week.

What types of resources are available?
We rotate nonprofit and community partners on a 52-week schedule to ensure participants have consistent access to a wide range of services throughout the year. This rotation allows individuals to regularly connect with different resources such as housing support, healthcare services, employment opportunities, legal assistance, and recovery programs. By bringing organizations directly into the meeting each week, we make it easier for individuals to ask questions, build relationships, and get connected to the support they need in real time.

Are employers and housing providers involved?
Yes. Local employers regularly attend to share job openings and hiring opportunities. Housing providers also participate to share information about available beds and housing resources for individuals in need.

What is the purpose of the Resource Club?
The Resource Club is designed to be a welcoming, judgment-free space where people can connect, share information, and access support. It also provides opportunities to learn about important topics such as conflict resolution, mental health, artificial intelligence, and voter registration.

Who is it for?
It is open to returning citizens, individuals seeking resources, community partners, and anyone interested in supporting reentry and community connection.

Can I attend?
Yes—everyone is welcome. Come check it out!
